Fairwinds Park is now officially open

This past Sunday, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Combie, Councillor John Kovac, Councillor Carolyn Parrish, Commissioner of Community Services Jodi Robillos and Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Management Deryn Rizzi where joined by Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Pinnacle International Anson Kwok were on hand to welcome the local neighborhood residents to open Fairwinds Park.
Fairwinds Park, which is located to the south west portion of the site, features a significant amount of fun and family friendly amenities that will welcome both young and older residents to the area. The park features a nautical-themed playground including The HMCS PINNACLE ship. Other fun aspects of the playground include a whale, a lighthouse which will illuminate at night, a series of small lifeboats, puffin fish and real sand and a beach section.
Fairwinds park will also include the following features and amenities:
Two outdoor fitness stations
Bench Fitness
Two tennis courts
Basketball court
Interactive public art feature
Open playfield
Natural ice rink
Shade structure
Trail lighting
Parking lot
Meadow and wetland extensions
Sidewalk extension at Fairwind Drive
It’s exciting to see a plan start to come together, we look forward to seeing the completion of Fairwinds Park and welcoming local families to Mississauga’s newest public play area
